SkyWest Airlines is looking to solve safety and quality issues by analyzing and reporting safety data to support all SkyWest safety programs.
Requirements
- Formal education including comprehensive data collection, quantitative methods, data interpretation, analysis techniques, and statistical analysis;
- Professional data analyst certification
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Tableau preferred
- Experience in aviation data analysis preferred
- Experience with Excellence through Quality (EtQ) Reliance preferred
- Experience in Aviation SMS preferred
Responsibilities
- Analyze, compile, and report safety data to support all SkyWest safety programs.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on safety assurance-related data from safety data sources
- Identifying and monitoring safety performance trends
- Reporting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Safety department, including Operational Difficulty Index (ODI) events, Aircraft Ground Damage (AGD) events, Seasonal Risk events, On-the-job Injuries (OJIs), and Flight Severity Index (FSI) events
- Presenting data analysis findings in safety meetings investigations and Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs)
- Creating, updating, and maintaining Tableau dashboards as required.
- Recognizing and reporting hazards in the work environment through established safety reporting programs
Other
- Be qualified through training, experience, and expertise to function as a data analyst.
- Two years of work experience as a data analyst or related job
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Some travel required
