Peraton is looking to hire a Scientific Applications Programmer to support Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) with their ocean modeling applications, ensuring the correct operation and maintenance of critical software systems like NOSSP, ROAMER, and NOFT, and to develop solutions for upgrading file distribution systems.
Requirements
- Experience with SQL database systems including Postgre SQL and MySQL/MariaDB
- Experience working in a Linux O/S environment
- Perl, Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, shell scripts
- Experience with configuration management tool Git
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis.
- Develop or maintain database structure to fit in into the overall architecture of the system.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance and maintain data processing applications.
- Collaborate with team peers and SMEs to achieve goals in Linux based architecture environment with web-based front-end dashboards.
- Design and implement new database features to improve system performance and support expanded requirements.
- Design and implement new data and file distribution system features to improve system performance and support expanded requirements.
