L3Harris is seeking an experienced AI/ML lead to advance the Segment’s AI/ML frameworks, focusing on strategy, design, development, and adoption of AI solutions to enhance operational efficiencies and employee experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML models across multiple domains (e.g., computer vision, NLP, task optimization, data analytics).
  • Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with the full AI lifecycle: data preparation, model design/training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business or mission requirements into AI/ML solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, optimization, and infrastructure for AI/ML, including cloud or on-premises environments.
  • Experience applying AI/ML in aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical environments, including edge AI or constrained computing.
  • Familiarity with generative AI and large language models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and RAG pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the AI integration strategy to support reliable and informed decision-making across the enterprise.
  • Oversee the design, build, and maintenance of robust AI/ML solutions that align with business goals.
  • Extensive experience in developing AI solutions across various business domains, including computer vision, task optimization, data analytics, and natural language processing models.
  • Proficiency in the full life cycle of AI development, including software stacks and infrastructure necessary to realize strategic AI vision.
  • Guide the creation, updating, and optimization of AI models, datasets, and data transformations to meet evolving business needs.
  • Ensure the consistent and accurate flow of data from source systems to AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold security standards and ensure the integrity of AI data inputs and outputs.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field and 12+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams and present technical content to non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, with a strong ability to lead strategic initiatives and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience integrating AI into enterprise workflows or business operations to improve efficiency and decision-making.
