Verizon is looking for a Security Engineering intern to work on projects that could enhance skills in various security domains, contributing to the company's overall security posture and innovation.
Requirements
- Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (ex: Python, Java).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Network & Security protocols (ex: TCP/IP).
- Knowledge of Threat Management and Incident Response (ex: Splunk).
- Knowledge of fraud identification, key management, OAuth, OpenID.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, policies, & standards, security configurations.
- Understanding of penetration testing.
Responsibilities
- Enhance skills in 5G Technology.
- Enhance skills in AR/VR and Computer Vision.
- Enhance skills in Python, Java, expert systems software.
- Enhance skills in Database management systems (e.g. SQL).
- Enhance skills in Access management, information assurance, intrusion prevention.
- Enhance skills in Cloud Security infrastructure, policies & standards, cloud vendor assessment, security configuration.
- Enhance skills in Data Administration & Security data classifications, loss prevention, privacy, incident review.
Other
- Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2026 to August 2026, working a full-time schedule.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related majors with a graduation date between December 2028 - June 2029.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
- Willing and able to travel.
- Willing and able to relocate.
