MBL Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Security Infrastructure Support Application Developer to provide application development, modernization, and cybersecurity support for a federal government client, addressing the need for secure software development and infrastructure integration in hybrid environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting IT systems in hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem and cloud).
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or secure software development.
- Proven expertise with Java, Python, SOAP APIs, and SQL for automation and application development.
- Extensive experience with legacy JavaServer Pages (JSP) applications, including modernization and security enhancement.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, and integrating security into development workflows.
- Working knowledge of cloud security operations and services (AWS, Azure, O365), including application migration and hardening.
- Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-92, OMB M-21-31, and CDM.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure applications supporting federal infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud systems.
- Develop and enhance legacy JavaServer Pages (JSP) applications, ensuring modernization and security compliance.
- Implement DevSecOps principles, incorporating secure coding practices, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines into the software development lifecycle.
- Support cloud migration, modernization, and security hardening efforts for applications hosted on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Office 365.
- Write and maintain automation scripts and tools using Java, Python, SOAP APIs, and SQL for improving system performance, security operations, and data processing.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and cybersecurity teams to ensure application security alignment with enterprise policies and federal frameworks.
- Apply knowledge of federal cybersecurity compliance standards, including FISMA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-92, OMB M-21-31, and CDM, to ensure applications meet required security controls and audit requirements.

- This role is mostly remote; however, it will require occasional onsite meetings in the Bethesda, MD area. With no travel reimbursements allocated.
- This role is contingent based on contract award.
