Grainger's inventory planning team manages over 10 million SKUs and $2 billion in inventory across 500 DCs and branches in North America. The company is looking to hire a Senior Analyst, Supply Chain Optimization and Advanced Analytics to help make better decisions across the supply chain, specifically regarding inventory placement to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Be data driven and have 2-3 years experience with analytics tools (e.g. R, Python, SQL) and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience articulating ambiguous business questions and using quantitative modeling techniques to arrive at a solution
- Experience processing, filtering, validating, and presenting large quantities of data (Millions to Billions of rows)
- Supply chain, forecasting and optimization knowledge preferred
Responsibilities
- Obtain, manipulate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (Snowflake, S3)
- Work with data using R, Python, Julia, or Gurobi
- Deploy models and solutions using Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Apache Airflow
- Build & validate advanced analytical and statistical models, using forecasting, optimization, and simulation e.g. linear programming, integer programming etc.
- Leverage analytics tools to identify problems and implement solutions
- Quantify business impacts and communicate actionable recommendations with business partners to drive informed decisions

- Fluency in speaking Japanese required
- Graduate degree (MS or equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a related quantitative field preferred
