Oura is looking to strengthen its position as a leader in AI-driven health insights by developing novel evaluation systems, tooling, and custom AI models to power first-in-class recommendations, reducing dependency on external AI SaaS providers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in production AI/ML work
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML/AI frameworks
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, CDK)
• Experience with fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks, and deployment of LLMs or agentic systems
• Experience leading AI projects
• Experience building AI agents and deploying them to production
• Experience building multimodal GenAI systems

Responsibilities

• Design and implement evaluation systems and tooling to validate Oura’s custom AI models and Advisor
• Develop novel evaluation methods to measure grounding, reliability, and actionability of LLM and agentic systems
• Build and optimize custom AI models through fine-tuning, knowledge distillation, and quantization
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to balance cutting-edge research with practical engineering impact
• Lead initiatives that reduce Oura’s dependency on external AI SaaS providers and accelerate model development

• This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in San Francisco, San Diego, or New York.
