SAP Business Network is moving beyond simple automation to build autonomous supply chain agents capable of reasoning, planning, and exception handling to solve real-world supply chain problems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building and deploying distributed systems, microservices, or backend APIs (e.g. REST, gRPC, GraphQL)
- 3+ years of applied AI experience (e.g. NLP, Machine Learning) including 1+ years of hands-on experience with Generative AI techniques like Large Language Models, RAG, Agentic Workflows
- Hands-on experience with agentic tools (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph) and Vector Databases
- Familiarity with graph databases (e.g. Neo4j) or query languages (Cypher, SPARQL) to support GraphRAG implementations
Responsibilities
- Component Design & Implementation: Own the end-to-end design and implementation of specific AI subsystems. You will translate high-level architectural vision into scalable, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Build Agentic Workflows: Develop and optimize autonomous agents using modern frameworks
- Production Engineering: Write clean, testable, and efficient code to implement highly available AI services
- Data & Integration: Implement data pipelines that feed our reasoning engines. You will integrate vector databases and knowledge graphs with SAP’s core business applications to ground AI responses in enterprise reality
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices in software design and AI engineering
Other
- This is a hybrid role based out of Palo Alto, CA. Hybrid is 3 days a week on-site, 2 days a week remote.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
- 7+ years of professional experience in software development
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Supply Chain Management, procurement processes, or logistics data models
