Sand Technologies is seeking a Senior AI Solutions Director to lead the delivery of Enterprise AI solutions within their Energy (Oil & Gas) portfolio, aiming to solve complex client problems and drive business growth.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10+ years of technical experience as a data scientist or in a relevant technical field with a strong understanding of software development, IT, and data engineering principles.
- Deep expertise in data science, AI, and related technologies.
- Adept at managing the end-to-end delivery of complex AI programs, with a focus on driving client value through innovation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the full delivery of AI programs, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and client value.
- Manage technical project teams, driving resource efficiency, and ensuring that all initiatives align with our clients’ strategic, business, and regulatory goals in the energy sector.
- Collaborate with the MD and CPO to craft new AI propositions that position us at the forefront of technological innovation within Oil & Gas.
- Identify key opportunities for AI solutions and products that add measurable value to client businesses, ensuring both business outcomes and regulatory compliance are achieved.
- Act as a strategic technical advisor to clients, providing insights that help them unlock the full potential of AI.
- Assist with scoping projects, developing proposals, and securing new logos while contributing to account growth and expansion.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the AI service line by fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence.

- PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proven leadership experience managing and scaling highly technical teams within the Energy (Oil & Gas) sector.
- Demonstrated success in building and nurturing senior-level client relationships, with a track record of delivering AI projects that achieve tangible business outcomes.
- Experience in dynamic, high-growth environments, including new ventures or scaling businesses, is highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to scope and sell AI projects.
- A natural leader who excels at navigating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and aligning delivery with both client expectations and broader company goals.
