LivaNova is seeking a Senior Algorithm Developer to contribute to the research and development of medical device products, developing algorithms for commercial products that meet customers’ needs and expectations of performance, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities
- Initiate and drive innovation of various algorithm development initiatives ranging from event detection, ML/AI and signal processing supporting medical hardware technologies in companies core indications (epilepsy/sleep apnea/depression).
- Defining and decomposing design inputs and outputs of algorithmic functions and tasks, to enable each applicable function to assess, verify and validate algorithm performance.
- Analyzing and comparing technological tradeoffs to enable cross-functional decisions including, for example, algorithm sensitivity, specificity and false detections, algorithm power consumption, algorithm processing speed, and if applicable design and sensor/hardware evaluations.
- Developing algorithm design verification and validation strategies in collaboration with functional owners to demonstrate that design outputs meet algorithm performance requirements.
- Investigating, researching, planning, implementing and/or leading the developments of algorithms, while tracking and documenting the algorithm full development cycle.
- Lead design verification strategies along side with verification and validation teams to create test bench frame works to challenge algorithms and technologies and make sure performance is up to specified requirements.
- Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company by recording and submitting invention proposals.
Other
- Master of Science (BS) or higher degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree or 4+ years of relevant professional experience with a PhD
- Mild travel may be required (up to 5%)
