SoundCloud is looking for a senior Android Engineer to join the Creator team to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences for Artists on Android, helping users discover unique content and interact with the platform.
Requirements
Professional experience building Android applications using Kotlin, with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, and Jetpack Compose
Comfortable working in and improving large, existing codebases, including refactoring XML layouts to Jetpack Compose and maintaining clean, maintainable code
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain SoundCloud’s Artist experience on Android, delivering responsive, high-quality user experiences
Contribute to the modernization of our codebase by refactoring and modularizing components using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
Build and optimize UI components using Jetpack Compose, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and platform consistency
Support experimentation and data-driven product development by integrating A/B testing and tracking into mobile features
Take part in architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices to ensure maintainable, scalable mobile development
Other
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product, design, backend, and analytics—to define, build, and iterate on features
