The Multimodal Intelligence team at Microsoft is looking to empower developers and applied scientists to easily integrate AI capabilities into their applications, and is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to join their team to solve complex challenges in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Artificial Intelligence.
Requirements
- Background in Applied Machine Learning
- Deep expertise in Python programming
- Proven success in solving complex challenges in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Artificial Intelligence
- Familiarity with Large Language Models and Agent frameworks
- 3+ years of experience in Python
- Hands-on experience with building products using large language models
- Experience developing agent-based applications using large language models
Responsibilities
- Develop industry-leading products and agents powered by large language models for multimodal content understanding.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define product requirements, scope, and priorities.
- Partner with researchers to translate cutting-edge research into scalable, real-world solutions.
- Engage directly with customers to understand their challenges, resolve issues, and incorporate feedback into product improvements.

Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years related experience
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years related experience
- OR Doctorate in Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
