American Express is looking to ensure the efficiency and reliability of their data center MEP equipment and systems by monitoring, responding to failures, and performing maintenance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Tier III-IV data center (or equivalent) environments working with electrical and mechanical plant operations.
- Experience operating the following systems: engine generators, chilled water production, HVAC, UPS, electrical distribution, static and automatic transfer switches, underground diesel and water storage, fire detection and suppression
- Experience with Microsoft Office and similar business applications.
- AAS, vocational, trade school education, certification and/or equivalent experience in associated infrastructure, e.g. electrical, electronics, mechanical/HVAC, data processing hardware, telecommunications and/or networks
- Advanced knowledge of data center infrastructure and data processing-based systems and equipment, with proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Responsibilities
- Monitors data center MEP equipment and systems. Perform adjustments to operating systems to ensure efficiency and reliability
- Respond to equipment failures and system alarms. Stabilize and perform corrective actions to maintain 100% availability
- Complete frequency-based infrastructure maintenance tasks
- Monitor vendor support resources
- Build detailed maintenance and repair procedures
- Apply expertise and experience to analyze various data center component and system configurations to optimize performance
- Examine failures for trends and contributing factors, developing and/or performing corrective actions independently
Other
- Able to work a four-day-on/four-day-off rotating shift schedule, which includes days, nights, weekends and holidays. Workdays are approximately 12.3 hours long.
