New York Life is looking to design and execute the company’s modern software development strategy to build applications in the FinTech ecosystem, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI to increase productivity, streamline processes, and create seamless experiences for clients, agents, and employees.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on application development experience developing and supporting a range of front-end and back-end technologies and stacks with good experience in designing, developing and operationalizing cloud-native applications using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies and frameworks.
- Experience with C-Sharp, Java, ReactJS, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Stored Procedures, SSIS, HTML5, CSS3.
- Strong expertise with cloud platforms, preferably AWS and S3 services, and storage technologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles, including version control (Git), and CICD.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting experience.
- Demonstrated initiative in identifying technical gaps and proposing actionable solutions.
- Candidates who have completed full stack development/coding bootcamps or equivalent industry recognized certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions architect) will also be considered in lieu of a technical undergraduate degree.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, well-tested & secure code, exhibit ownership from requirements to development.
- Deeply understand existing architecture on the back end as well as the front-end side to be able to enhance and improve architecture going forward with a key focus on scalability and quality.
- Sharp focus on gaining an in-depth understanding of the requirements around user experience to be able to deliver high quality, cross-platform optimized and responsive web front-end experience.
- Focus on getting the required depth of functional expertise to be able to effectively suggest solutions to business problems/requirements.
- Work on designing and implementing microservices using .NET Core, Entity framework, and design patterns.
- Strong knowledge of designing secure and performant RESTful APIs, with expertise in authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth, JWT, SSO).
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers, DBAs, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and build flexible, scalable solutions.

- Hybrid - 3 days per week
- Collaborate with technical leadership to influence architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy.
- Provide mentorship to junior developers, conduct code reviews, and lead by example in technical excellence.
- Participate in roadmap planning and align engineering efforts with business priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with designers, engineers, product management and business stakeholders to deliver & enhance new/existing capabilities.
