ICF is seeking an AI Automation Architect to support a major data modernization initiative with the Department of Transportation, accelerating and improving the accuracy of code development during the migration from legacy Oracle systems to a modern data analytics platform.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Generative AI and LLM-augmented code development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Agent, AWS Q).
- Expertise in context engineering and agentic frameworks beyond basic RAG applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure for deploying and managing AI tools.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with MCP servers, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Spark, and Oracle systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with government data systems (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain an AI automation sandbox environment using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Agent, and AWS Q.
- Lead context engineering efforts to ensure relevant codebases, documentation, and data sources are accessible and searchable by agentic coding assistants.
- Integrate and manage access to MCP servers, Unity Catalog, and legacy Oracle databases within the sandbox.
- Collaborate with developers and data engineers to optimize workflows and ensure tool functionality.
- Report to the Technical Lead and serve as a technical resource across engineering teams.

- Must be eligible for federal clearance and pass a background check.
- Occasional travel to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area may be required for key client meetings.
