CRB is looking for an Automation Engineer V – Senior Lead to oversee the Automation, Instrumentation and Controls (AIC) discipline at a project level, manage project discipline budgets, and ensure the successful execution of design and engineering support staff to meet client expectations and project goals for complex projects in the life sciences and food and beverage industries.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and discipline-specific engineering software
- Deep understanding of cGMPs and experience with advanced technology projects (e.g., R&D labs, biotech, pharma, food & nutrition, consumer products)
- Expertise in: Engineering calculations and system design implementation
- Expertise in: Control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings, and field wiring plans
- Expertise in: Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Expertise in: Electrical codes, mechanical and building codes, and industry standards
- Expertise in: Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) design
Responsibilities
- Works with a Project Manager on proposal development, man-hour planning and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on large, advanced/complex projects.
- Identifies and resolves advanced non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.
- Develops construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on advanced and complex projects without oversight.
- Provides lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development and construction progress reports.
- Conducts quality checking of documents for advanced complex projects (e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation) and drives overall project quality.
- Leads advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from Senior Engineer
- Leads a team of discipline staff in the execution of advanced projects discipline design and engineering
Other
- 15+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a design firm environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP)
- Strong coordination skills with cross-discipline teams, construction partners, vendors, and manufacturers
- Ability to perform advanced design calculations independently
