Steampunk is looking for a Back-End Developer to work with their DevSecOps practice to deliver software features, APIs, and micro-service solutions for federal government clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building applications with a focus on back-end development languages and APIs including Java and Python
- Experience leveraging cloud native services and containers for software development
- 5+ years of experience using CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Pipelines
- Experience developing in and implementing docker containers
- Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks including unit testing
- Experience with Java 17 and Angular 17
- Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy micro-services and cloud-based systems using Java / React
- Write and debug code for innovative software solutions
- Troubleshoot software quality, security and reliability issues
- Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities
- Automate unit and functional tests
- Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
- Ensure that software is secure against cyber threats
Other
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
- BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to other developers
- Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
