Doctronic is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure for their AI healthcare platform, which aims to serve millions of patients and handle a high volume of interactions while maintaining security and reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with expertise in Python and API development
- Strong experience with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python web frameworks
- Proven experience with cloud services
- Experience building and scaling RESTful APIs, handling high-volume traffic
- Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and optimization techniques
- Knowledge of Redis, caching strategies, and distributed systems design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and deployment automation
Responsibilities
- Scalable healthcare APIs using Python, FastAPI, and AWS, with the ability to handle millions of daily requests
- RESTful API development and expansion to support our growing suite of AI healthcare tools
- Real-time data processing systems managing sensitive patient information with HIPAA compliance
- Internal API architecture supporting our web platform and AI coordination systems
- Secure health record exchange integrations with EHR systems, QHINs, and healthcare networks
- Large-scale sensitive data processing pipelines with encryption and compliance safeguards
- Backend coordination systems that guide and manage AI tools and decision-making workflows
