COVU is building an AI-native agent workspace to help independent insurance agencies operate more efficiently and grow, tackling challenges in a modern, scalable way.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time building end-to-end systems with a strong focus on backend development.
- Fluency in Python (Java/Spring or Go is a plus.
- Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native design (e.g., ECS, Lambda, Dynamo).
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data models.
- Proven ability to design and optimize systems for performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern tools and patterns.
- Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS, with a preference for serverless approaches.
- Support DevOps efforts including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to system design reviews, RFCs, and long-term architectural decisions for the backend platform.
- Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team for backend development.
- Collaborate with tech, product, and operations teams to define the right problems to solve and how to solve them.
