Patreon is looking to hire a Senior Backend Engineer to support their mission of funding the creative class by building the core spaces where creators and fans interact in real-time, enhancing engagement, safety, and meaningful experiences within niche fandoms.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python or a similar language
- Experience with React, next.js, Typescript or Javascript
- Experience with SQL.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver well-scoped full stack product feature milestones that help creators create content on Patreon.
- Drive technical design of components that are scalable, well tested and are easy to maintain
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, designers, and other engineers to deliver high quality features.
- Champion innovative solutions that enhance the usability and engagement with discovery features
Other
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Solid communication skills with cross-functional team members
- Eager to take on new challenges and expand skill set
- Build a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent
- This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.
