Arbiter is the AI-powered care orchestration system that unites healthcare. Today, healthcare runs on $100B+ in fragmented point solutions that can't see the full picture. We replace them with a single intelligent system that sits on top of EMRs and existing workflows, unifies clinical, policy, and financial data, then automates the actions that close care gaps - starting with site-of-care optimization.

Requirements

  • Exceptional proficiency with Python and its modern ecosystem for building complex, scalable applications.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining automated systems using server-side, headless browser frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Puppeteer).
  • Strong expertise in building and operating applications within large distributed systems architectures.
  • Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs to expose system functionality.
  • Intimate knowledge of and ability to implement unit, integration, and functional testing strategies.
  • Experience with Python-based desktop automation libraries (e.g., pywinauto, PyAutoGUI) for integrating with legacy clients.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS) and associated services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance server-side automation services using Python and Playwright for complex, headless browser-based workflows.
  • Architect and build clean, reusable Python-based client wrappers and services that expose stable, versioned APIs for desktop clients (e.g., EMRs like Epic), enabling them to be controlled as modern, distributed services.
  • Lead and contribute to the architectural design of our custom automation platform, ensuring new services and components integrate seamlessly, reliably, and observably with our central, custom-built Python-based orchestrator.
  • Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to ensure system transparency, proactive issue identification, and efficient resolution in production environments.
  • Partner closely with product managers, data scientists, AI engineers, and other engineering teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions and integrate automation services seamlessly into the Arbiter platform.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and conduct code reviews for junior engineers, championing best practices in Python, "code-first" automation, system design, and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and functional testing strategies to ensure the highest quality and reliability of all developed automation components.

Other

  • 8+ years of deep, hands-on experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on Python development in large-scale, production distributed systems.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and guidance, and thinking strategically and analytically to solve problems.
  • Friendly communication skills and ability to work well in a diverse team setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with many cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a software product or component vision and delivery plan.
