Kraken is looking to design and implement core services for their crypto-native prop trading platform, Breakout, with a focus on metrics, data pipelines, and performance monitoring to ensure real-time visibility into trading activity, risk exposure, and financial performance, while driving scalability and reliability.

Requirements

  • highly skilled with C, ASP.NET Core, and PostgreSQL
  • comfortable deploying and scaling applications in AWS
  • worked on API platforms, real-time data pipelines, or metrics systems

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, low-latency, and scalable back-end services and RESTful APIs using C and ASP.NET Core
  • Architecting solutions for real-time financial data processing, trade surveillance, and portfolio analysis
  • Building pipelines and data models to power metrics dashboards, risk reporting, and performance analytics
  • Managing and optimizing complex queries and schemas in PostgreSQL
  • Integrating APIs with third-party systems to ensure data integrity and reliability
  • Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks to meet demanding uptime and latency requirements
  • Implementing security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption

Other

  • 7+ years of backend engineering experience (at least 3+ years in financial, metrics-driven, or high-performance systems)
  • understand or are curious about trading systems and cryptocurrency markets
  • thrive on solving complex problems and building robust, scalable software
