The Senior Backend Engineer will be critical in improving partner onboarding experience, shortening cycle times between application and offer, and accelerating the time to add new partners.
Requirements
- Java, Spring Framework, REST Framework, SQL
- Java microservices and distributed systems
- DevOps experience is a plus
- Familiarity with front-end languages and technologies is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable code to develop functional web applications in Java.
- Build APIs adhering to modern RESTful specifications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Understand and structure large-scale financial data applications.
- Build new systems and create innovative business workflows.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
Other
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer, preferably from fintech, adtech, or insurtech companies.
- Interest or experience in leveraging large language models (LLMs) to enhance developer productivity, automate workflows, or enrich user experiences.
- Strong understanding of finance, compliance, and banking operations strongly preferred.
- Ability to self-direct, take ownership, and work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Agility to move fast and adapt to changing priorities.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
