Own the sunset of a large PHP codebase and help build its TypeScript replacement.
Requirements
- 5+ years backend experience with 3+ in PHP on large systems
- Shipped a migration or can show equivalent systems thinking
- Are an exceptional debugger who can isolate root causes in unfamiliar code, use logs/profilers well, and land fixes with minimal guidance
- Want to spend increasing time in TypeScript as PHP disappears
Responsibilities
- Identify seams, design contracts (APIs/queues/adapters), and strangle-fig subsystems out of PHP
- Maintain a complex and beloved PHP 7.4 system in production
- Pair with our TypeScript team to implement new services, migrate data/flows, and retire PHP components

- Hybrid – downtown Austin (Littlefield Building, 6th & Congress), 3 days/week
