Hobby Lobby is looking to solve business intelligence problems by developing solutions to satisfy immediate and long-term priorities, ranging from traditional reporting to modern, interactive reporting solutions.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of dimensional data modeling techniques.
  • Expert SQL development skills.
  • Proficient in developing tabular models for SSAS.
  • Strong understanding of developing reports using both SSRS and Power BI.
  • Proficient in the use of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI.
  • Ability to lead Business Intelligence projects from concept to realization.
  • Must have experience working directly with senior business leaders to understand objectives and gather requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business intelligence solutions to satisfy immediate and long-term priorities with solutions ranging from traditional reporting to more modern, interactive reporting solutions.
  • Facilitate business intelligence projects by providing direction and coordination with multiple team members with different abilities and skills.
  • Utilize Kimball’s methodology to implement data models to support static reports, interactive reports, and self-service analysis.
  • Effectively use SQL development skills, SSRS reports, SSAS Tabular Models, and Power BI Visuals to implement business intelligence solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and development teams to implement analytical solutions in coordination with custom application development.
  • Work directly with business leaders to get beyond the initial “ask” to understand the underlying business needs, critical path, and timeline surrounding key goals.
  • Mentor team members to help enhance their professional skills and BI development abilities.

Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
  • 6-8 years in data analytics and/or data science.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who can work independently and also seeks out opportunities to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to mentor junior and intermediate business intelligence colleagues.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects at different stages of completion.
