WSP is looking for a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to join their Portland, Maine office to assist with planning, design, and modeling of site grading, surface preparation, stormwater, stormwater management systems, preparation of technical documents and providing mentorship for junior engineers on a variety of projects.

Requirements

  • PE or ability to obtain PE registration within 1 year.
  • Grading and drainage design and stormwater modeling experience.
  • Erosion and sediment control and stormwater permitting experience.
  • Ability to prepare design engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • AutoCAD Civil3D knowledge and experience.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work within multidiscipline design teams on wide variety of civil and civil/environmental projects, including site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, soil and groundwater remediation.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and design reports.
  • AutoCAD Civil3D knowledge for developing surface models and earthwork quantities.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of materials of construction and developing construction details.
  • Preparation of project permitting documents for local, state and federal permits.
  • Perform construction inspection and oversight activities.

Other

  • BS or MS degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field.
  • 7-10 years civil/environmental design experience.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilities.
  • Interact with coworkers, clients, and prospective clients while conducting work in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites. Approximately 20% overnight travel.
