The Department of Defense (DoD) needs a senior cloud architect to translate IT needs and future goals into a plan, craft cloud architecture designs, and lead the transformation of the Army's technology use, including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems.
Requirements
- Experience with commercial cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of network technologies, including DNS, Routing, Load Balancing, and SSL
- Experience designing and automating the provisioning of cloud resources and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies and Kubernetes
- Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and command-line interfaces, including Bash, Gitlab YAML, and Microsoft Windows
- Experience with DevOps, GitLab, and the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence
- Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines and Agile development techniques and ceremonies
Responsibilities
- Crafting cloud architecture designs and detailed technical approach artifacts
- Leading technical meetings and integrating requirements and releases with specific IT strategies, programs, initiatives, and investments
- Advising organizational leadership on emerging cloud solutions and open system technologies
- Implementing cloud solutions across large-scale enterprise environments
- Defining organizational project cloud migration objectives and requirements
- Ensuring information assurance compliance
- Directing, coordinating, and completing project efforts
Other
- 10+ years of experience managing U.S. Army, DoD, or IC programs and projects
- Secret clearance required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Ability to adapt to evolving requirements and deliver to project deadlines
- Top Secret clearance preferred
