Farmers' Public Cloud Enablement Engineering team needs to analyze, design, implement, and onboard cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring adherence to architectural design patterns, governance standards, and security controls for high complexity configurations. The team also needs to develop secure and efficient updates to cloud-based solutions and provide coaching to new engineers.
Requirements
- Advanced experience with public cloud service offerings, programming, and scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience in deploying applications, workloads, and data to the cloud environment, often involving migration from on-premises infrastructure or other cloud providers.
- Advanced knowledge of infrastructure and configuration as code solutions, configuration management software.
- Experience in spearheading POCs and implementations related to services offered by multiple cloud platforms as required.
- Pivotal in creating as well as guiding the team with Terraform scripts, to create the cloud resources (VM/EC2, Load balancers, etc.), reusing code, saving time, reducing errors, promoting to multiple environments.
- Advanced experience with public and/or private cloud service offerings, creation and distribution of images, programming and scripting languages.
- Advanced knowledge of: infrastructure and configuration as code solutions, configuration management software.
Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, and maintains products and services across multiple cloud platforms.
- Ensures all solutions adhere to established architectural design patterns, governance standards and security controls for high complexity configurations.
- Evaluates business needs, defines functional requirements and technical specifications.
- Develops secure and efficient updates or enhancements to cloud-based solutions.
- Specializes in methodologies, various programming languages, Infrastructure as Code platforms and automation tools.
- Performs coaching for new staff engineers.
- Creates and maintains runbooks/playbooks and supporting documentation as it relates to all aspects of the cloud platform implementation and operational support independently.
