CenterPoint Energy is looking to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure to support enterprise applications and services, while also enhancing IAM policies and automating infrastructure provisioning.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — this is a mandatory requirement.
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform-IAM administration
- Expert using languages such as Python, Java, or Spark
- Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices
- Expertise with DevOps and deploying and maintaining CI CD pipelines
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools.
- Expert in Google Cloud Platform: BigQuery, DataFlow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run
Responsibilities
- Maintain and Manage IAM administration in Google Cloud Platform
- Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Design and document standardized processes and procedures to ensure efficient operation of compute, storage, and network cloud environments.
- Administer and maintain the compute infrastructure, user access, and performance optimization of enterprise visualization tools including Power BI, Tableau, and SAP BusinessObjects.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and compliance across cloud environments.
- Apply FinOps practices to monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spend, ensuring cost-effective use of GCP services.
- Drive a data engineering strategy focused on delivering data in near real-time using serverless technologies
Other
- Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a focus on math, statistics, computer science, information technology
- Requires 7+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineering role
- Experience working in Agile development environments: including sprint planning, stand-ups, and delivery of cloud-based solutions.
