Medidata's Sales Intelligence team aims to help the commercial organization unlock the full potential of data and promote data-driven decision-making to increase revenue, strategic planning, and operational excellence. The Senior Commercial Data Analyst will play a critical role in turning information into actionable insights.
Requirements
- Proficiency in business intelligence and visualization tools, including Tableau and Salesforce CRM Analytics (formerly Einstein Analytics).
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across large, complex datasets.
- Expertise with programming languages such as Python (preferred) or R for advanced analytics, automation, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency with Salesforce ecosystem tools, including Salesforce Data Cloud, for enhanced customer insights, segmentation, and data integration.
- Understanding of predictive analytics, supervised/unsupervised machine learning techniques, and application of statistical modeling to business challenges.
- Knowledge of data architecture and data engineering principles related to analytics workflows (e.g., ETL processes, API integrations, and database querying).
- Proficiency with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS,)
Responsibilities
- Leverage a broad range of analytics methods — from descriptive to prescriptive — to transform large, complex sales datasets into actionable insights and scalable analytics solutions.
- Develop reusable implementations of statistical tests, predictive models, and machine learning solutions using the technologies within the commercial data ecosystem.
- Perform data querying and wrangling, creating data visualizations and business intelligence dashboards, and leveraging predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven solutions to provide new insights and inform decisions.
- Advance capabilities by adopting emerging technologies, enabling real-time alerts, and shaping smarter, faster decision-making across the commercial organization.
- Collaborate directly with business partners to define requirements, scope projects, design studies, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results while maintaining strong, professional relationships.
- Apply curiosity and data exploration to identify key business drivers and recommend data-driven actions that help the sales team achieve organizational objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to uncover operational barriers, analyze root causes, and drive resolution through data-backed solutions.
