OhioHealth is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Data Engineer to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a security-first culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
- 7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Security Engineering, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipeline security and automated security testing.
- Demonstrable experience managing DLP solutions, data encryption, access control mechanisms, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and their security services.
- Fundamental knowledge of all operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, and all Linux distributions).
- In-depth knowledge of encryption technologies, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, and hashing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data security strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Manage data encryption techniques and tools across all data lifecycle stages (in-transit, at-rest, and in-use).
- Administer and monitor data loss prevention (DLP) solutions to ensure sensitive data remains within company control.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of DLP effectiveness and refine policies accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement automated security testing tools and continuous monitoring solutions.

- Bachelor's Degree: Computer and Information Science (Required)
- Masters in Cybersecurity or Data Analytics.
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
