Mimecast is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to transform data into strategic assets that inform business decisions and drive growth by designing and developing enterprise-wide reporting, visualization, and analytic solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing, building, and optimizing interactive dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools)
  • Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to improve queries for optimal dashboard performance
  • Experience working with data transformation tools, including dbt, for building, testing, and maintaining data models
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, AWS)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and development of best practices
  • 4+ years developing dashboards and automated reporting in Tableau (or similar BI platforms)
  • 4+ years writing efficient and optimized SQL queries

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, ensuring they are both visually appealing and functionally robust
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business objectives and strategic initiatives
  • Develop, construct, and support last-mile SQL transformations in dbt
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests, providing timely and accurate analysis to support decision-making
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data processes, promote best practices, and enhance the BI function’s impact
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all dashboards and reports
  • Support the development of self-service analytics capabilities, empowering business users to explore data independently

  • Partner with business leaders and technical teams to gather requirements, translate business questions into analytical projects, and communicate findings clearly
  • Coach, mentor, and upskill junior team members by providing guidance, sharing best practices, and fostering continuous professional development within the analytics team
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and present data-driven recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with data and developing analytical outputs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated with the latest BI trends
  • 5+ years experience in business intelligence or data analysis roles
  • 1+ years building and maintain data models in dbt
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics)
