Nordstrom is looking to improve data architecture and quality to unlock value for the enterprise and make data-driven decisions to drive business outcomes, including more customers, happier customers, and more engaged customers.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of strong coding skills using SQL to import, process, summarize, and analyze data.
- Experience with utilizing data visualization tools to tell compelling data stories (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Looker) and automate ongoing monitoring related to data integrity.
- Proficient in extracting large data sets from various relational databases using SQL (Big Query, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Teradata preferred)
- 5-8 years of experience analyzing complex data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
- 5+ years of experience developing and deploying production-level SQL queries.
- 3+ years of experience with advanced BI visualization (Tableau or Looker preferred)
- Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (Treasure Data, Blueshift, Adobe Experience Platform)
Responsibilities
- Represent the Customer Insights & Analytics team interests when it comes to data quality, defect identification, remediation, and proactive monitoring & controls designed to identify issues before they impact customers & business decisions.
- Partner with business teams to identify open issues and system changes that could result in downstream data changes.
- Collaborate with data product & engineering teams to improve overall data quality & architecture, by prioritizing business teams open issues.
- Compile, cleanse, & analyze data to drive actionable outcomes in support of business objectives.
- Support data gathering, cleansing, and transmission while systematic solutions are in development or not existent, including but not limited to supporting manual execution of marketing campaign files, manual extracts for incident remediations, and ad hoc validations of data quality.
- Deliver high quality solutions and recommendations to a variety of problems both independently and through the collaboration with team members and business partners to drive outcomes.
- Manage and balance projects across competing priorities to focus on the most impactful work to maximize the value of your work to the business.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, operations research or in a quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to think strategically, seek to expand understanding of business domain, processes, data sources, and relevant key metrics.
- Passion and aptitude for turning sophisticated problems into concrete hypotheses that can be answered through meticulous data analysis and statistical testing.
