eMed is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize its data infrastructure to support its fast-growing digital health ecosystem, enabling advanced analytics, and ensuring high-quality data for clinical insights, business intelligence, and AI-driven innovation.
Requirements
- Expertise in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency with modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Talend, Informatica).
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
- Strong Python, Java, or Scala programming skills.
- Familiarity with data streaming frameworks (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar).
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR).
- Experience working with large datasets and optimizing data processing performance.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and product teams to deliver clean, reliable, and well-structured datasets for reporting and advanced analytics.
- Optimize data storage solutions, including data lakes and data warehouses, for performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement and maintain data governance, quality, and security standards in compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Design and manage database schemas, data models, and metadata repositories.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline and infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
- Leverage modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data tools to enhance performance and scalability.
Other
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a healthcare, healthtech, or high-growth technology environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting AI/ML model development and deployment pipelines.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
