CodePath is reprogramming higher education to create the first generation of AI-native engineers, CTOs, and founders by delivering industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of first-generation and low-income students. The company is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build the next-generation infrastructure to power critical functions like student success analytics, business intelligence, and AI-driven personalization.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills and experience building efficient pipelines, including performance tuning
  • Expertise in building data pipelines end-to-end, from ingestion through transformation to final visualization. Deep understanding of data modeling principles (dimensional modeling, data normalization)
  • Hands-on experience managing cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or Redshift)
  • Proficiency with CodePath’s primary data stack, including Postgres, Airbyte, dbt, and Tableau
  • Manage CodePath’s Google Cloud Platform infrastructure (CloudRun, BigQuery, App Engine) to support data and dashboarding needs, including owning security/permissions, scalability, and uptime
  • Experience developing custom data connectors and integration with platforms like SurveyMonkey, HubSpot, or Airtable
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks and governance best practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of a modern, scalable data platform that fuels analytics, data science, and ML
  • Design and maintain a scalable, modern data infrastructure (data warehouses, pipelines, data lakes, analytic products)
  • Build and optimize robust data workflows using SQL, dbt, FiveTran and other tools to deliver clean, reliable, and timely data
  • Create effective data models to power self-serve analytics, performance reporting, and strategic insights across teams
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools (Tableau or equivalent) that drive decision-making and clarity on key KPIs
  • Establish data quality and governance standards, ensuring stakeholders can trust and act on data
  • Document systems, models, and pipelines to support transparency, onboarding, and long-term scalability
