Requirements
- Strong understanding of enterprise relational database management systems (RDBMS) and associated tooling.
- Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, and/or cloud storage solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis tools and methods.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, C, or JavaScript.
- Experience with data quality assessment tools and techniques.
- Solid grasp of metadata management concepts and procedures.
- Understanding of security considerations in data engineering and operations.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to design, implement, test, deploy, maintain, and improve data engineering solutions for our fleet, retail, and Engineering lines of business using industry best practices and proven patterns.
- Lead discussions around data strategy, standards, architecture, governance, and compliance across various systems and organizations in the enterprise.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new data collection requests.
- Deliver high-quality data elements, ensuring appropriate levels of test coverage and operability.
- Drive improvements to data element and configuration file lifecycle through continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated testing, and agile methodologies.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of system designs, configurations, and processes.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in technology, recommending innovative approaches when opportunities arise.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
