Handoff is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to shape their data landscape, driving the development of scalable data pipelines, robust ETL processes, and efficient data models to ensure teams have access to high-quality data for informed decision-making.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Airflow, Airbyte, and Metabase.
- Experience developing and deploying data transformations using AWS Athena and Apache Iceberg tables.
- Experience using AWS Glue Data Catalog to manage Apache Iceberg tables.
- Proven ability in SQL query tuning, data modeling, and database design.
- Experience designing and building dashboards.
- Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot complex data issues and implement effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Create and optimize data models and database schemas to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Enhance SQL queries and database performance for efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Oversee the architecture and management of our data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and data analysts, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Other
- 5+ years in data engineering or architecture roles, preferably within product-centric companies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
