The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) needs to integrate data from various sources to improve the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care and to put discovery and innovation into practice at the bedside.
Requirements
- Hands-on development skills in python, javascript (ideally react.js) and relational database (ideally Postgres) are essential for this role.
- Any mobile and/or java development experience is a definite plus
- Seven or more (7+) years of experience in a development role, designing and developing integrations to internal and external applications
Responsibilities
- Studies data sources by interviewing users; defining, analyzing, and validating data objects; identifying the relationship among data objects.
- Plans data integration process by developing common definitions of sourced data; designing common keys in physical data structure; establishing data integration specifications; examining data applications.
- Examines data models and determines best-fit data interchange methods.
- Assesses middleware tools for data integration, transformation, and routing.
- Develops project scope and specifications identifying factors that negatively impact integration; forecasts resource requirements and establishes delivery timetables.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences or closely related field or equivalent related professional experience is required.
- Additional certifications are preferred.
