The Senior Data Scientist role at the company is looking to solve complex problems and develop actionable insights for mission-critical programs by applying advanced quantitative, statistical, and computational methods.
Requirements
- Expertise in operations research, statistics, and quantitative methods.
- Experience with machine learning and data mining strategies and tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages and data science tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation software and advanced decision-support systems.
- Experience applying data science solutions to mission-critical environments (e.g., defense, law enforcement, security)
- Work experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or other law enforcement or homeland security agencies.
- Experience with data mining and machine learning tools
Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative analysis using operations research, economics, and statistical modeling to assess procedural implementations and performance issues.
- Assist in the design and documentation of analysis procedures to standardize best practices and methodologies.
- Define and support machine learning and data mining strategies to extract insights from large and complex datasets.
- Develop, deploy, maintain, and refine decision management models to support operations and organizational planning.
- Apply modeling and simulation techniques to functions such as exercises, planning, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction.
- Conduct applied research and deliver analytics in domains including health, environmental, transportation, law enforcement, and security for military and civilian agencies.
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and program managers to integrate data science solutions into operational decision-making.
Other
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years specialized experience or 10 years of general office-setting experience and 3 years of specialized experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce executive-level reports and technical documentation.
