ANSER is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) by conducting advanced quantitative analyses to improve operational performance and support procedural implementation.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in data science, including machine learning, AI, statistical analysis, and large-scale data manipulation
- Proficiency in SQL and other data querying languages or tools
- Experience in designing and maintaining analytical models and simulation environments
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations for operational leadership
- Specialized experience must include both modeling and analysis, with at least some work performed in a law enforcement environment
Responsibilities
- Conduct exploratory data analysis by acquiring, cleaning, and analyzing data from multiple agency databases to detect potential corruption and criminal activity
- Develop and execute SQL queries to access and manipulate data across separate data systems
- Apply advanced data science techniques, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistical modeling
- Design, deploy, and refine decision management models to support CBP operations
- Define and implement data mining and machine learning strategies for agency-specific use cases
- Create and optimize analysis procedures and repeatable workflows based on proven outcomes
- Manipulate large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to support strategic initiatives

- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, sciences, or a related quantitative field
- Eight (8) years of specialized experience; or ten (10) years of general experience with at least three (3) years of specialized experience
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate findings and support informed decision-making
