PlanHub is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of data-driven insights and analytics to guide strategic decisions across their SaaS business, focusing on delivering high-impact analysis, building predictive models, and informing AI/ML solutions.
Requirements
- Strong skills in SQL, Python, and Quicksight (or equivalent BI tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker)
- Proven ability to develop and evaluate machine learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time-series forecasting) for business use
- Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) and data lakes
- Excellent understanding of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and statistical methods for inference and optimization
- Experience contributing to AI/ML projects, including model evaluation metrics, training data preparation, and feature selection
- Experience supporting RAG-based or LLM-based AI pipelines by analyzing embeddings, content performance, and data coverage
- Experience working with semi-structured/unstructured data, such as PDFs, text, or images, to support NLP/CV use cases
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer behavior, product usage, financial, and operational data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities across the business
- Design and implement predictive models, segmentation, churn analysis, forecasting, and other machine learning approaches to support strategic planning and operational efficiency
- Develop insightful dashboards and reports in Quicksight that deliver ongoing visibility into key performance metrics for leadership and teams
- Support the AI engineering team by analyzing and preparing training data, evaluating model performance, and identifying relevant features and target variables
- Work with unstructured and structured data sources to generate insights that inform AI model training, RAG pipelines, and agent task performance
- Partner with the data engineering team to ensure clean, reliable, and timely data pipelines for analysis and reporting
- Lead experimentation and A/B testing to evaluate business changes and feature releases
Other
- 7+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles, preferably within a SaaS or data-rich environment
- Ability to distill large volumes of data into clear, actionable insights with business impact
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across functions and influence decision-making
- Familiarity with Agile workflows, Jira, Confluence, and Git-based collaboration
- A proactive, self-driven mindset and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
