Advance Shipt's understanding of the customer, make predictions to improve products and experiences, and design and measure experiments.
Requirements
- Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, experiment design and model development, and knowledge of how to leverage these skills to solve complex business problems.
- Expertise in causal inference.
- Proficiency in programming languages (we use Python) and experience with data analysis and machine learning libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Airflow, etc).
- Strong SQL skills (we use Snowflake).
- Experience with a data visualization tool (we use Tableau).
Responsibilities
- design product experiments to test business hypotheses
- apply rigorous statistical analyses
- interpret the results to draw impactful insights
- develop a thorough understanding of our data to drive insights in the areas of customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and loyalty through causal inference and experimentation methods
- contribute to organizational maturity in data storytelling and best-in-class ML and statistical approaches
- collaborate closely with diverse teams (including product managers, engineers, and fellow data scientists)
Other
- Advanced degree preferred in a quantitative field, and a minimum of 4 years of industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and embrace new technologies, applications, and solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics to data scientists, engineers, and business partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment.
- Experience as a technical lead and a passion for mentoring.
