Apple Ads is looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to innovate and develop the next generation of analytical solutions for Apple News, focusing on business complexity, scale, and high standards for Information Architecture, performance optimization, and actionable insights.
Requirements
- Strong data analysis skills to conduct deep dives by applying statistics and machine learning to generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in SQL, data visualization, and a keen eye for design.
- Strong programming ability in Python, and experience with Pandas, SciPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with a variety of data stores such as Hadoop, and Snowflake, and with distributed analytics engines such as PySpark.
- Familiarity with job orchestration frameworks such as Airflow.
Responsibilities
- Envision and design an entire portfolio of dashboards, analysis notebooks and data products to help executive leadership, product leadership, sales leadership to drive the portfolio of products across Apple Ads.
- Combine Information Architecture with Apple standards of design & performance to drive dashboard usability.
- Apply statistical models and ML models to provide business-pertinent insights.
- Lead business analytics projects through all phases, including defining investigations, exploring data, conducting analysis, interpreting, and presenting results for customers.
- Lead partnerships with cross functional teams to define collaboration model and outline business needs into data and analysis requirements.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into actionable insights with an uncompromising emphasis on accuracy.
- Conduct deep dives by applying statistics and machine learning to generate actionable insights.
Other
- 8+ years of Business Analytics or Data Science leadership experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex analyses in a clearly to executive leadership and technical audience.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with advertisers to design tests to demonstrate effectiveness of Apple Ads, collaborate with sales and product leadership to manage ads inventory, and collaborate with product leadership to solve challenging product problems.
- 11+ years of Business Analytics or Data Science leadership experience.
- Experience and knowledge of ad tech, digital and mobile advertising experience is a big plus.
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
