Común is looking for a Data Scientist to help build a deeper understanding of their users, detect and prevent fraud, and drive smarter decisions across Product, Risk, and Growth, leveraging data science to shape both product and business strategy.
Requirements
- Strong background in statistics, modeling, and machine learning.
- Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using frameworks like pandas, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow.
- Strong SQL and data visualization skills (Looker, Metabase, or similar).
Responsibilities
- Develop models and experiments to identify trends, detect anomalies, and optimize decision-making.
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Growth to design and evaluate A/B tests and predictive systems.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and tools to support scalable analytics.
- Translate raw data into insights that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the design of fraud detection, credit, and risk-scoring models.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Other
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in fintech or consumer products.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to turn insights into product or operational improvements.
