Requirements

  • 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis
  • 2 years of experience in a data science role within a technology company
  • Experience with Machine Learning on large datasets
  • Experience in growth data science
  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related technical field (preferred)
  • 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis (preferred)
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop advanced analysis, forecasting, experimentation, ML and optimization methods to identify growth opportunities
  • Gather information, business goals, priorities, and organizational context around the questions to answer
  • Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources via relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Independently format, re-structure, or validate data to ensure quality, and review the dataset to ensure it is ready for analysis
  • Develop advanced statistical and other problem-solving methods to identify growth opportunities
  • Use logs, surveys, and human-evaluation driven methods to design and validate solutions
  • Autonomously drive projects from start to finish, solve complex business problems, and communicate solutions effectively

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in cross-projects and team settings to identify and clarify business or product questions to answer
  • Provide feedback to translate and refine business questions into tractable analysis, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models
  • Initiate projects inside and across the organization and drive to completion autonomously
  • Communicate solutions effectively
  • Advocate for users and focus on sustainable, long-term growth
