The company is looking to ensure that their SQL Database is performant, secure, and stable by hiring a skilled MSSQL DBA.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of SQL Server internals
- Expert skills in writing advanced T-SQL, window functions, set operators, pivoting/unpivoting, grouping sets, as well as building complex stored procedures
- In-depth knowledge on analyzing query plans, can optimize and fine tune complex queries and stored procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server (2016, 2019) and ability to apply SQL Server capabilities to business challenges
- Experience with managing and troubleshooting databases in high performance, multi-user applications
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, VMs, Network, all aspects of infrastructure supporting MSSQL Server
- Experience with MS SQL production support
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems across the IT architecture
- Design and implement future database and application solution strategy, technical design, architecture, and support
- Provide production support for on-prem and cloud database environment in accordance with agreed service levels, standards, and processes
- Cover all aspects of Availability, Scalability, Performance and Security for Databases
- Work closely with Developers and provide guidance on T-SQL coding
- Troubleshoot database-related application performance issues and recommend solutions
- Assist in the evaluation, planning and delivery of the migration and upgrade of existing database applications
Other
- 10+ years of experience in administering SQL Server databases on Windows Platforms
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Professionalism, positive outlook, respect and courtesy to customers and all associates
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology, etc.)
- Ability to operate in the high-pressure environment and troubleshoot complex issues quickly and successfully handle multiple priorities
