The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Community Services (OCS) is seeking a Senior Developer to design, develop, and enhance web-based applications and database systems that support the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) program and related federal initiatives. The goal is to deliver secure, accessible, and user-friendly software solutions that meet federal IT standards and improve the experience for program staff and grant recipients.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience designing, developing, and modifying complex applications, software, and databases, preferably supporting federal programs such as SSBG.
- Proven ability to analyze user requirements and deliver customized web/software solutions, including database design.
- Strong knowledge of federal IT requirements and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in web development languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue).
- Deep understanding of Section 508 accessibility compliance for web-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies (sprints, user stories, backlog management).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement user-friendly web interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify complex software applications and specialized database programs to meet the needs of federal programs, preferably SSBG.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into scalable, functional web and software solutions.
- Develop and customize databases within application areas, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Support and enhance the SSBG Portal or similar federal program data management systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal IT requirements, standards, and security protocols.
- Implement Section 508-compliant web-based products to ensure accessibility for all users.
- Apply agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and user story refinement.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Remote work with occasional travel as required.
