The Senior Director of R&D Product Engineering will provide functional leadership to teams responsible for the successful execution of strategic initiatives and new product development projects, influencing global functional strategy and implementing functional objectives to achieve overall R&D goals.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Leads teams responsible for delivering upon product development objectives ranging from early concept and prototyping through transfer to any of the HMC manufacturing sites. Key activities include requirements definition, system and product design, risk management, V&V testing strategy & execution and product and process design alignment.
- Provides technical leadership at the management and individual contributor levels while identifying and supporting the developmental and training needs across the team.
- Provides work direction for best-in-class product design & development skills and tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), DFM, FMEA, risk management, etc. This knowledge may be leveraged across various technologies as needed.
- Accurately and effectively reports and communicates progress and issues to leadership in order to support project objectives.
- Supports Project Management in the execution of a project portfolio by understanding and setting priorities, providing technical inputs to project planning activities, managing resources and mitigating risks in order to achieve milestones.
- Oversees the development, implementation, and documentation of technologies to support successful product launches, while identifying new solutions aligned with R&D and customer priorities to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

- Minimum of 12 years of related experience including experience in the medical device industry.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing and leading teams.
- Demonstrates exceptional leadership, communication and managerial skills.
- Communicates effectively across all organizational levels and external stakeholders, with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
