HCA Healthcare is seeking a visionary Sr. Director of Software Engineering to lead next-generation software development initiatives with a strategic focus on artificial intelligence (AI) integration throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), aiming to improve patient care, clinician experience, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience integrating AI and automation into the SDLC.
- Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, containerization, microservices, APIS, and platform engineering.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional software teams and drive delivery in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale digital transformation or innovation programs.
Responsibilities
- Drive the adoption of AI-enabled tools and techniques across the SDLC (e.g., intelligent code generation, test automation, code review, incident prediction).
- Partner with architecture, DevOps, platform, and data teams to integrate AI into engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with data science and AI/ML teams to deliver scalable, secure, and performant AI solutions.
- Collaborate to establish standards and best practices for AI-assisted software engineering.
- Drive proof-of-concept initiatives and pilots for emerging technologies such as generative AI, autonomous testing, and LLMs.
- Evaluate and introduce modern engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI pair programming, AI observability platforms).
- Act as a change agent to accelerate cultural and technological adoption of AI.
