Genentech's Data, Analytics, and AI team is dedicated to solving complex healthcare challenges and improving patient outcomes by leveraging data, analytics, business products, and AI/ML to enable fast, targeted actions in rapidly evolving business contexts. The Senior Director, Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights - Solid Tumor Oncology will set the strategic direction of analytics across Therapeutic Areas in Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG), partnering with senior cross-functional teams to shape long-term strategies, identify business development opportunities, drive data-informed decisions, and influence organizational outcomes.
Requirements
- Leverage strong proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, SQL) to explore large datasets, identify key insights, and build compelling data-driven narratives.
- Experience with revenue forecasting, including patient-flow methods, patient funnels, account-based forecasting, trend-based forecasting (short and long-term), statistical methods, and uncertainty analysis.
- Experience solving access issues across a wide range of products, therapeutic areas, and challenges, with limited guidance, insights, or resources.
- Able to design and conduct digital analytics/measurements.
- Expert knowledge and deep understanding of therapeutic area dynamics and how to apply analytical capabilities to drive that Therapeutic Area business.
- Experience in customer and/or competitive insights, including designing and fielding qualitative and quantitative primary market research plans and guiding strategies across commercial teams.
- Experience in business development and guiding strategies and influencing investment decisions across pipeline development in alignment with Global partnership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee delivery of impactful analytics and insights across forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, digital measurement and customer access.
- Evolve and embed advanced capabilities in all relevant functional capabilities, ensuring methodological rigor and compliance with legal and privacy standards.
- Partner with the Squad, product owners, and activation leads to champion adoption of analytics and AI/ML powered products and embedment into workflows and decision-making processes.
- Shape new capabilities and methodologies that elevate analytical insights generation and drive enterprise-wide standardization and automation where feasible.
- Enable execution of strategic TA and portfolio-level initiatives by aligning analytics support with therapeutic area specific business needs and organizational priorities.
- Monitor external trends and internal business signals to proactively shape future analytics priorities.
- Continuously improve operational efficiency, budget discipline, and analytical insight delivery effectiveness across the functional capabilities.
